Will Deloitte Report Be Vetoed by Pokies Industry?

Independent Member for Nelson Meg Webb said today the Rockliff Government must clarify immediately whether the pokies industry has sought changes to the draft Deloitte Access Economics Report on the pokies mandatory pre-commitment card review.

“Last month I asked the Government a range of details regarding the Deloitte review, including whether pokies industry stakeholders would receive a draft of the Deloitte review report, which the Government conspicuously failed to answer despite responding to other elements of my question,” Ms Webb said.

“I think that deafening silence tells us industry has seen the draft.

“Clearly this raises serious concerns over whether and the extent to which the Report could be modified before it is finalised and released.”

Ms Webb said according to the Government’s response to her question provided on Parliament’s last sitting day, it is expected the final report will be received by State Growth in December, which is only two days away.

“While the Government has said it will release the Deloitte Report, it must also be upfront with the community about any changes made between the draft document going to the pokies industry, and the final version released publicly.”
