7 Nightly News Tasmania – Renewed Calls for Mandatory Disclosure by States Fish Farms in Fresh Waterways

Independent Member for Nelson Meg Webb MLC interview with 7 TV Nightly News on Monday the 6th of July 2026, regarding the Interim Report recently released by the EPA which found Huon Aquaculture’s use of an antibiotic in January at their Meadowbank Hatchery was detected above reportable levels. Meg is calling for more full and timely disclosure of incidents and treatments at fish farms in Tasmania’s fresh waterways to be a mandatory requirement of environmental licenses.
