The R.A. Rodda Museum of Pathology stolen body parts scandal, also referred to as the ‘Coronial Project’ stems from historic practices which occurred between 1996 and 1991 in Hobart, where 177 identified human remains were stolen without consent from coronial autopsies.

The identities of the deceasd persons who had been subject to these unlawful activities were released in January 2025.  Subsequently, family members have been desperately seeking answers, accountability and justice on behalf of their loved ones.

As the sole university operating in the State, the University of Tasmania holds a place of significance for many Tasmanians. It is essential for the social, cultural and economic development of Tasmania that the University is able to successfully deliver on its central mission of teaching and research to a level of excellence.

However, recent serious community and academic alumni concerns regarding  governance, educational, and workplace culture at UTAS, has significant ramifications for both the state parliament’s responsibilities, and for communities within the electorate of Nelson.
