Submission: Assembly Committee Inquiry-Electoral Disclosures and Funding Amendment Bill 2024

On the 12th of July 2024 the House of Assembly voted to refer the Greens’ Electoral Disclosure and Funding Amendment Bill 2024 to that Chamber’s Government Business Committee B.

This Bill seeks to amend the state’s new political donations regulation framework as established by the Electoral Disclosure and Funding Act 2023, which at the time of this Committee’s referral is yet to be formally commenced.  While the Amendment Bill 2024 would make some key improvements to the current Act, there remain some significant reforms left unaddressed by the Bill.

The Assembly Committee is scheduled to report to the Parliament by the 10th of September 2024.
