7 Nightly News Tasmania – State Government was warned its Pokies Polices could increase harm

Independent Member for Nelson Meg Webb MLC interview with 7 TV Nightly News on Tuesday the 14th of July 2026, following Right to Information documents which revealed that the State Government did not seek advice from the independent Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission (TLGC) on their new pokies policies.

The TLGC wrote to the Treasurer warning that the Government’s new measures would risk creating more harm and take Tasmania backwards from where it was.
