ABC Mornings Radio Interview – Antibiotics in Meadowbank Salmon Hatchery Confirmed, But No Mandatory Disclosure

Meg Webb MLC, Independent Member for Nelson, speaks on ABC Mornings Radio with Leon Compton on Tuesday 10 February 2026 regarding revelations that antibiotics were used in the Meadowbank Hatchery for an unspecified period in January thisyear, and without any public notification despite the company voluntarily disclosing the use to the EPA.  Meg raises concerns over the lack of mandatory disclosure requirements for freshwater hatcheries, and calls for immeidate reform including timely public disclosure and release of monitoring reports.
