ABC TV News – Coronial Investigation into Autopsy Specimen Collection Concerns

Independent Member for Nelson Meg Webb MLC calls for a comprehensive public report at the conclusion of the current Coronial Project investigation underway by the Coroner’s Office into the collection of historic autopsy samples held by the University of Tasmania R.A. Rodda museum of Pathology, as reported by the ABC TV News, Sunday 15 June 2025.

The Coronial Project investigation commenced in January 2025, and involves over 130 historic autopsy specimens held in the collection, with concerns raised these samples were taken at the time (between 1953 and the early 1980s) without consent of the individuals or their families.
