Motion Debated – Marathon Speech on the AFL Stadium Order in the Upper House

The Hon. Meg Webb MLC delivered her marathon speech in response to the State Policies and Projects (Macquarie Point Precinct) Order 2025 (No. 49), which sought to provide permission for the proposed contentious AFL stadium on Hobart’s historic heritage waterfront, on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, outlining the reasons why she will not vote in support of the Order. 

Ms Webb’s detailed speech commenced just after 11:15pm Wednesday tthe 3rd of December in the Legislative Council and concluded at 2:37am Thursday the 4th of December.
